Because a Chihuahua and a Great Dane are not the same animal, no matter what the Chihuahua believes:

• Small (~36 × 20mm, 3g) — For tiny dogs, puppies & cats. Chihuahuas, Yorkies, Poodles, and other pocket-sized royalty. Under ~22 lb.
• Medium (~45 × 25mm, 4g) — For the in-betweeners. Corgis, Beagles, Border Collies, Shibas. Roomy enough to add a phone number on the back. ~22–55 lb.
• Large (~55 × 30mm, 5g) — For the big, noble beasts. Golden Retrievers, Labs, German Shepherds, Huskies. Bold name, big presence. Over ~55 lb.

Rule of paw: match the tag to your dog's build, not just their attitude. If you only want your dog's name, any size works — go by body type. If you'd like to add an owner name or phone number on the back, choose Medium or Large so there's room for the text to breathe.
